My name is Leia. I usually don’t have cinnamon buns on my head, I have ears. I drink coffee and make too many (horribly bad) jokes. I can’t draw to save my life so I make pictures with cameras instead. Not sure what I’d do without them.
I grew up in Lappland in northern Sweden but since 2009 I’ve been living in Piteå by the north east coast. I also spend a lot of time in Stockholm and I love to go different places – I’m just not too fond of the travel part of traveling.
I mostly do macro and nature photography and usually combine them, but I like all kinds of photography and my biggest problem with photography is that I want to learn everything and there just isn’t enough time to do that. Regardless of what kind of photo I’m trying to make, light, shapes and depth of field are mainly what I focus on.
I use a Canon 70D and a 5D Mark III. My favorite lenses are the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM and EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, the last one sometimes reversed for macro.
I spend a whole lot of time on Instagram and try to post 1-2 photos a day over there. If Instagram isn’t what brought you here, feel free to check out my profile over there: WhiteLayerPhotography on Instagram.
When I’m not making pictures or posting them I try to learn new things and talk a lot about photography. Probably a bit too much, which is one of the main reasons why I started this blog. To let my family and friends rest their ears a little. You’re welcome!
